Every girl has insecurities, especially when she is a young adult just getting started on their own. Melanie is no different, however, she lets her insecurities define her. I I could relate to Melanie, or at least the me of 19 could. There were so many times I wanted to reach into my nook and shake Melanie and tell her to pull it together. She refuses to let anyone think she is less than perfect so she doesn't turn to anyone when she needs help. Her self confidence was non-existent at times and it really broke my heart.
Then there is Bryan. Sweet, sexy, dorky Bryan. He really seems to have the whole life thing figured out. But everyone has their struggles. I loved Bryan for his confidence, his exuberance, his willingness to help others, and especially for the way he loves. Bryan is the type of guy I hope Baby Girl falls for one day. He is the kind of guy that loves with everything he has, but has enough confidence in himself to know when to draw the line.
I really liked that all this isn't happening after all the Maddy and Reid stuff, but instead, its happening while Maddy and Reid are falling madly in love. Melanie's story is very definitely affected by what is going on in the lives of her friends. One other thing that I really liked is that you get to know Mamma (aka Lucy) a lot better in Let Love Heal. Even more exciting than that? Book 4 in the Love Series is called Let Love Be and its all about Lucy!
