BLOG TOUR AND GIVEAWAY: REAL by Katy Evans

A fallen boxer.
A woman with a broken dream.
A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

Review

Here we have a book full of sexual tension followed up with a one two punch of angst.  I ate it up! (Seriously, who needs sleep when you have a toddler at home?  Apparently not I!) Let me just share with you when I fell in love with Remy:

His lips curl and he meets my gaze.  "Brooke Dumas."  He just f#$%ed my name right in front of me.  And right in front of Mel. ... "Brooke," he growls softly, meaningfully, against my lips, as he draws back with a smile.  "I'm Remington."

SWOON!  I have to agree with Brooke's best friend Mel when she says "Holy s%^* its like porn with the romance."  This book was H.O.T. no other way to describe it, none.

Remy's instant desire to be near Brooke leads to a job offer Brooke can't say no to.  As Brooke gets ever close to Remy you realize something is just a bit off, and Brooke has to learn how to live with all that Remy is.  The sexual tension between the two is so intense its like tanning on the surface of the sun.  My heart ached for Remy and his sad past, it really did.  I loved how music was brought into the story and how important it was to both Brooke and Remy, it was really touching.

By now you know I'm a sucker for a man who will sacrifice everything for the woman he lives and Remington is no different.  The boy may think he can only do bad, but Brooke brings out the good in him even when he isn't in control anymore.

This is soooooo making my top ten for 2013!

COVER REVEAL AND GIVEAWAY: Wish I May by Lexi Ryan

I grew up wishing on stars.

My father taught me to believe…in destiny, in magic, in happily ever after. Dreams were my scripture and the starry night sky was my temple. Then Mom stopped believing, left him, and took us with her. At the age of sixteen, I cashed in my dreams to pay the rent, pawned my destiny to keep my sisters together.

Now, seven years later, I’m returning home, grieving the death of my mother, and settling my sisters back into the life Mom threw away. I never intended to stay. I don’t want to deal with my father, who is so invested in the spiritual world he forgets the physical. I don’t want to face William Bailey, whose eyes remind me of the girl I was, the things I’ve done, and the future I lost.

This would all be easier if Will hated me. As it is, I have to hold my secrets close so they won’t hurt him more than they’ve already hurt me. But he wants to be in my life. He wants what I can’t bring myself to confess I sold. He wants me.

I find myself looking to my stars again...wondering if I dare one more wish.

Expected release date: October 2013

Excerpt

I can hardly breathe. My brain doesn’t have time for something as trivial as oxygen when it’s so busy cataloguing her features, memorizing the exact shade of her mocha eyes, warring with the anger and regret that have sprung to life as if they never left me to begin with.
I never thought I’d see her again. I didn’t think I wanted to.
The moment I step closer, I realize my mistake. Being near her is like a sip of water to desert-parched lips. It whips something through me—memories, lust, first love. Heartbreak. She tilts her lips up to mine, and I actually think for one goddamned ridiculous minute that I might kiss her, that I want to. That I would swallow all my pride and forgive her for just one taste.

I step back before I can give in to the impulse, and her cheeks blaze to life, her blush as cute as the rest of her. That’s the word for her: cute. Sweet smile and peppy ponytail, she exudes cuteness.
Except her ass. Her ass doesn’t even land in the same stratosphere as cute, and those tight little pants do nothing to hide its soft, round curves. And her breasts. There’s definitely nothing cute about the way her T-shirt stretches across their fullness. Or her go-for-miles legs. Not to mention the narrow strip of skin exposed between her shirt and pants. Just looking at the single inch of flesh below her navel, and I practically taste strawberry wine on my tongue.
Moonlight. Her warm skin under my tongue. The sound of her moan as my tongue dips lower.
The memory grabs hold of my senses and won’t let go.

Fuck. I can’t even lie to myself. Nothing about her says cute. Everything about her says sex. And mine.

From Hope to Joy by Jennifer Degl

My daughter was borne very prematurely and weighed only 1lb 7oz at birth. As a mom of a micro preemie, like Joy, this book obviously had my attention as soon as I saw what it was about.  It also took a lot of deep breathing and psyching myself up to read it.  I am slightly further removed from the “NICU days” then Jen was when she wrote this book, however, I knew it was going to stir up a lot of emotions that I wasn’t sure I was ready to deal with.

Each page of this book made my heart ache for Jen.  It also made my heart burst with pride.  Pride in Jen for overcoming all of the obstacles that hit her, and for sticking to her gut instincts and not giving up when she was told that was her only option.  And a HUGE amount of pride for that little miracle, Joy.  She is 100% pure proof that miracles do exist.  She was a fighter from the instant she was conceived right up until today, as I am sure she is still facing obstacles and hardships as a result of being brought into this world way too soon and way too small.

The first half of the book was Jen’s story throughout her pregnancy.  It was heartbreaking to read, knowing that this was a real life person going through all of these awful experiences.  But it wasn’t the part of the book that had me doing my breathing exercises.  Part 2 delved into the LONG 4 months that Joy was in the hospital.  As I was reading, it was almost as though I could have written this part word for word.  THIS was the part that had me hesitant to read.  But I am so glad I did.  As I said, I thought it would dredge up feelings that I wasn’t prepared to deal with, but it did so much more than that for me.  It helped to show me that I am more healed than I thought, and it allowed me to reflect upon my experiences and feel pride for MY miracle right along with my pride for Joy.  Jen also did an amazing job at explaining the NICU world to those who haven’t had to experience it.

This is a true story of triumph, dedication and determination.  I think that many people (not just NICU moms) would benefit from reading this story.  These days if you don’t have a preemie of your own, chances are you know someone who does, and this can really help you relate to what all of those “warriors” have had to endure.

BOOK BLITZ AND GIVEAWAY: Conversion (Conversion #1) by S.C. Stephens

Emma is happy. She's got a promising career in front of her, great friends, and a pretty amazing family. But her social life has been a little lacking lately. That's when fate stepped in, and crashed her into a tall, dark and handsome man. Sure, he has his secrets...don't we all, and, yeah, maybe his secrets are a little more unusual than most - like he's a partial vampire who can walk around during the day, but also enjoys a little plasma nightcap now and again - but to Emma, he's single, successful, and an extraordinary gentleman. That makes up for a lot. Of course, his condition is a bit more serious than he first lets on, and living a life with him will require some sacrifices that most just aren't willing to make. Will she? Is love enough to compensate for a life that will never be anywhere near the realm of normalcy? But then again...what's normal anyway?

Return to Poughkeepsie Trailer!

Check out the AMAZING Return to Poughkeepsie Trailer!!!!!! *shivers*

Cover Reveal: Return to Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia

Beckett Taylor is a murderer. Destruction and intimidation are his calling, his craft— whether he wants it that way now or not.

He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?

But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the
phone. Mob forces have moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an
instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back safely. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, along with the new man he’s struggled to become.

“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”

In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or worse until death does part.
